A solid-state drive makes more difference to how quick a PC feels than almost anything else. Look for SSD or NVMe in the listing.
8GB RAM or more
8GB is the comfortable floor for Windows 11 with a browser and Office open. 16GB if you live in lots of tabs.
Windows 11 ready
Windows 10 support ended in October 2025. Intel 8th gen or AMD Ryzen 3000 series and newer run Windows 11.
Count the ports
Running two monitors? Check the PC has two display outputs, such as DisplayPort and HDMI, before you buy.
